Volume 63 Number 2 Date 05/10/2018 BEAN LEAF BEETLE - The first beetles were collected from Richland County alfalfa on May 7. The spring appearance of this insect indicates soybeans emerging in the next 2-3 weeks will be highly attractive to overwintered beetles and should be checked shortly after emergence for feeding injury to the cotyledons, stems, and unifoliate leaves. -- Krista Hamilton, DATCP Entomologist
